On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the international voluntary organization Dakbhanga Bangladesh distributed food items among the poor people in the remote community of Ramu. These assistances were provided to the families of 100 orphans, disabled, widows and poor students of Dakbhanga Primary School and Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School of the upazila. Ramu Upazila Social Service Officer Al Mahmud Hossain spoke as the chief guest at the event organized on the occasion at the Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School ground of Kawarkhop Union. Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh at noon on Sunday (April 10),2022. Dakbhanga Bangladesh’s Country Representative Md. Masum Billah Khan gave a welcome speech under the chairmanship of Dakbhanga Bangladesh, Project Coordinator Md. Jewel Talukdar as Special guests were – Abdu Sukkur, President of the Management Committee of Meishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School, Master Abul Kasem, President of the Management Committee of Dakbhanga Primary School and Journalist Soeib Saeed of Ramu Press Club. The Head Teacher of Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School and Dakbhanga Primary School supervised the program. Members of the school management committees, parents, teachers and dignitaries of the area were present at the occasion.
25 kg rice, 2 kg pulses, 2 kg sugar, 2 kg soybean oil, and 1 kg salt were distributed to each family among 100 families. These food items have been distributed on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan under the food aid project of Dakbhanga Bangladesh. It has been reported that 25 orphan students of Dakbhanga Primary School and Moishkum Osman Sarwar Primary School managed by Dakbhanga Bangladesh are given monthly financial assistance of 100 takas each and given educational materials. Efforts are also being made to keep these students ahead in the stream of education through free coaching. These activities have been commendable in the area. Project Coordinator of Dakbhanga Bangladesh Md. Jewel Talukder said that two Non-Govt. primary schools established by Dakbhanga Bangladesh in the remote area of village Moishkum in Kawarkhop Union and Dakbhanga village in Kachhpia Union of Cox’s Bazar District. As a result, the poor children in those two communities are getting a chance to get quality education. In addition to teaching in the schools, regular sports, child club activities, and little doctor’s activities to be aware of primary health care and other cultural activities are practised for the emotional development of children.
